Music Reflection

January 2009:

12 January 2009:
Today is our first meeting in music room. Mr. Herry ask me to bring music book, folder, learning journal, and writing tools for our next meeting. I need to get them as soon as possible so I won't get any breach from my teacher.

13 January 2009:
Today, Mr. Herry check all the student's resources and I bring all of the resources so I don't get any breach. Mr. Herry told me that I should bring the resources all the time during music class so I will get a good marks for my learning habits.

19 January 2009:
Mr. Herry ask me to write my goal for today. My goal for today is not having any breach from my teacher and I think my goal has been accomplished today. I hope I won't get any breach in the future as well.

20 January 2009:
We are required to start our research about classical and popular music. I already know some major points of popular and classical music, but I still need to improve my knowledge about classical and popular music so I begin my research right away after my teacher ask me to do so.

Febuary 2009:

3 Febuary 2009:
Today Mr. Herry distributed the outline for our group presentation about classical and popular music and about what I know and I don't know about popular and classical music. I realized I know some of the things like the instruments and artist from classical and popular music, but I still don't know their similarities and differences and the impact of classical and popular music. I hope I could improve on this topic. Mr. Herry said that we will talk about the things that we haven't know next session. I can't wait for it.

10 Febuary 2009:
Today we discussed about the things that we don't know about popular and classical music. From today's lesson, I know the differences and similarities of classical and popular music, the loudness for the example. We also asked to present a presentation about classical and popular music in group. I already make it with my group and we present it in front of the class. Mr. Herry said that it's not really complete. I should make it better next time.

16 Febuary 2009:
Today, Mr. Herry told the class about our individual report assignment about the classical vs popular. He distributed the outline and ask us to start making our report. I am directly start my research and start making my individual report. It is due next week.

17 Febuary 2009:
Today, I learned more about classical and popular music. We are required to make 5 questions and we will discuss it in the class. I learned more about the topic and it makes me easier in making my individual report because I already know a lot of things.

23 Febuary 2009:
I submit my individual report today, I feel satisfied about it. I hope I can get a perfect mark for this assignment.My teacher also told me about the written test we will going to have.

24 Febuary 2009:
Today, Mr. Herry told the class some of the materials for our written test. It's about classical and popular music and scale. I asked my instrument music teacher to teach me about scale, it's not as easy as I thought. I really should improve.

March 2009:

2 March 2009:
We are asked to practice the classical music we are going to perform in term 4 during our instrumental class. I already pick my song and I already practice but I can't play it perfectly, I should practice harder.

3 March 2009:
We review some of the topic we learned in the past lesson like the composer during the baroque period, or the king of rock n roll, etc. I take note some of them because it will be the material for my written test.

9 March 2009:
Today, We have our term test. I am not satisfied with it because I cannot answer all of the question. I just hope that I will pass the written exam because I already try my best for it.

10 March 2009:
Mr. Herry told the class that the result wasn't so satisfying but he hasn't tell us our score. I am nervous, I am afraid that I am failed in the written test. If I fail, I really need to retake the test. He also teach us about making our own song based on chord. Since I already done it in grade 8, it's not that hard for me. I just need to improve more.

30 March 2009:
I learned how to compose an AABA song. It's interesting because I don't have to make the song based on chord like the previous meeting. Mr. Herry also teach us how to use finale software. I already done it in grade 8 as well, so it's not that hard to use it. I just forget some of the features.

31 March 2009:
I already make my AABA composition. I am satisfied with it and I will make it in finale software.

April 2009:

Monday, 6 April 2009:

Today I have learned how to compose an AABA song in 32 bars. I know it's not an easy thing to do because 32 bars composition is not as easy as it looks like. I already start to compose my composition.

Tuesay, 7 April 2009:

I asked my instrument class teacher, Mr. Sadrakh to check my AABA composition. He said that I need to fix some of the composition so I decided to make a new one and i love my new AABA composition.

Monday, 13 April 2009:

Mr. Herry asked us to create our AABA composition in finale. Since I already used this program last year, I am not confused on how to use it. I just forget some of the things from the software. However, my teacher taught me the things I forgot like the fit measures and how to compose a new document from finale. It's not as hard as I thought.

Tuesday, 14 April 2009:

I have learnt how to use finale software and where to download it. I learnt how to add lyrics and how to control the audio setup.

Monday, 20 April 2009:

Today, I am not satisfied with my classical music performance. I think I need to re-do my performance since I was very nervous for some reasons. But I also think that my performance isn't a total disaster.
